Adverbs :
The words
that modify verbs and adjectives are called adverbs. Again an adverb adds
something more to the meaning of a verb.
Examples:
Raju spoke softly at the meeting.
Mini is
walking on the road.
My parents
are coming back at 8 o’clock.
I usually visit my grandparents on
Sundays.
Here, we will discuss about four types of adverbs.
i) Adverbs
of manner.
ii) Adverbs of place.
iii) Adverbs of time.
iv) Adverbs of frequency.
1. Adverb of Manner:
The
adverb that tells us how something is done is called adverb of manner.
Example:
i) The dog barked loudly.
ii) She speaks English fluently.
iii) The
child crawled slowly.
2. Adverb of Place:
The
word that tells about place is called adverb of place.
Example:
i) My mother is going upstairs.
ii) The sky is above.
iii) Mina sat
inside the room.
3. Adverb of Time:
The adverb which is used to talk about time is called adverb
of time.
Example:
i) Masuma will reach
home before it rains.
ii) I went to play yesterday.
iii) The
students can now start the grammar.
